About Me
Around ten years ago, I left the coastline of Australia and decided to make the desert my home in Reno, Nevada. Before my children were born, I picked up a camera and realized that I was drawn to capturing nature. The beach was my inspiration for a lot of my work; however, when I became a single mother, I placed my camera back on the shelf, to devote my time to my two boys. It wasn’t until a year and a half ago that I decided to pick it up again after some lifestyle changes. Developing many health issues, that were destroying my body, I became aware I needed to take my mind off of it and find a positive escape. By taking photos, I saw beauty once again and the diversion my body needed. Here is my story through my lens. “I don’t trust words. I trust pictures.” – Gilles Peress
